Conference Overview

The SUSFISH 4SEA Conference, "The Future of the Irish Sea: Strategies for Economic and Environmental Sustainability", has now been held. This two day event took place March 12-13th, 2013 at the Welsh Government Office in Llandudno Junction, North Wales. The event was comprised of a series of talks followed up by interactive workshops where aspects of Food Security, Water Quality, Energy and Ecosystem Services were discussed within the context of the interdependent nature of the Irish Sea and surrounding catchments. This conference brought together representatives of government, science and industry as well as other users of the Irish Sea to discuss adaptation and mitigation guidelines for future management and sustainable use of the Irish Sea. Delegates from across the region presented and discussed the impacts of climate change to the Irish Sea and worked together via workshops to develop collaborative strategies for management of this important resource.
